Dr Amor Santiago

In addition to providing clinical services for 10 years in medicine and surgery, I  have almost 30 years of experience in nonprofit development, health/wellness programming, and multi-ethnic community collaborations. I am on the Health Science and Public Health faculty of San Jose State University with a focus on health administration, systems and policy. I am also a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT).

I have led organizations serving diverse communities including diverse Asian American and low-income ethnic and minority communities. I was the founding Executive Director of the Community Health Partnership, and President/CEO of Asian Americans for Community Involvement.  I served later as Executive Director of the India Community Center; Vice President and Director of the Healthy Living Initiative at The Health Trust; and Director of Healthy Silicon Valley.  I was most recently Executive Director of APA Family Support Services, and most recently, I was the Vice President of Development & Community Affairs at Project Open Hand.

My current areas of study, specialty and interest are health and wellness, focused on nutrition, stress, physical activity, sleep and social connection - all of these hold promise for well-being and longevity.

Homelessness and the environment/sustainability are issues of great concern.
