Observing Learning Pointing Telling Teaching
Dr Amor Santiago
In addition to providing clinical services for 10 years, I have almost 30 years of experience in nonprofit development, health/wellness programming, and multi-ethnic community collaborations. I have been on the Health Science and Public Health faculty of San Jose State University with a focus on health administration, systems and policy. I am also a Certified Massage Therapist (CMT).
I have led organizations serving diverse and Asian American and low-income ethnic and minority communities. I was the founding Executive Director of the Community Health Partnership, and President/CEO of Asian Americans for Community Involvement. I served later as Executive Director of the India Community Center; Vice President and Director of the Healthy Living Initiative at The Health Trust; and Director of Healthy Silicon Valley. I was most recently Executive Director of APA Family Support Services, and now I am the Interim Vice President of Development at Project Open Hand.
My current areas of study, specialty and interest are health and wellness, focused on nutrition, stress, physical activity, sleep and social connection - all of these hold promise for well-being and longevity.
